Oral Presentation Notes

Here are my notes for the oral presentation.

I would also like to say that one great desire I've always had is to pick random people of random ages and learn who they are. Humans are so quick to judge each other when in all honestly who we are is often quite different than the original judgements passed on them. If I could stop random people, and hear their life story I think it would be fascinating. I'd love for my audience to walk away questioning how they judge and perceive people and possibly change the hearts and minds of viewers to actually learn something about the people they interact with before passing judgement.

1. Two peculiarities of my life that have made me see with special eyes are ...

   a. moving 10 times by the time I was in 7th grade I used to say I lived in a nomadic family.
  • I was constantly saying goodbye to friends, and constantly struggling to make new friends in a new environment.
   b. my mother is bi-polar and now handicapped.
  • learning to ride the emotional roller coaster with my mom really taught me to grow up fast as many times I was more a parent to her than she could be to me.
2. Conflicts formative in my life are ...

    a. religion. I married a man who ended up essentially disregarding our marriage to be     devoted to his church, and while I respected his religious views, he completely disrespected mine, causing me to turn away from religion all together.

    b. years of public school vs home school and learning to handle  the positives and  negatives of both.

3. Themes that I'd like to work with are ...

    a. triumph over adversity

    b. individual vs society - what does it mean to be an individual in a world that's built around society?

4. Types of character I empathize with are ...

    a. characters that are loyal and honest to friends and family

    b. characters that are strongwilled and independant.
  • cant stand the "woman who needs saving"

5. Story topics I'd like to explore are ...
    a. Encounters that are life changing.

    b. analysis between humans and their pets.
  • humanizing animals. consequence and benefits

6. Ways I'd like to act on my audience are ...
    a. mentally involved
  • I want my audience to leave still pondering my messages
    b. emotionally involved
  • I want my audience to emotionally feel the messages I pass to them through film. I want them to walk away questioning those emotions and analyzing them.
